For me,
the Gamers Challange came down to
choosing one of three new armies.
Witch Hunters, Chaos (Slaanesh)
and Necrons. I have done both Necrons
(which I really do like and enjoy
painting) and Chaos (in one form
or another) before. I have just
recently finished up my pure Grey
Knight army and would like to stay
with a force that I can use as allies
with them. That and the fact that
I really have never tried them before,
I decided on Witch Hunters. So now,
to begin.
For my Witch Hunters,
my original idea was to start off
with a pure Sisters of Battle army.
I worked out my 1850 pt list first,
so I knew what I needed for the
whole army. Then, I started with
purchasing and trading for almost
everything that I would need to
make a pure Sisters list (plus enough
to expand to 2250 or so pts). For
my expansion of this army, I intend
to add an Inquisitor and retinue,
inquisitorial storm troopers, priests,
zealots and penitent engines.
I am still working
on my 600 pt list, but I do have
a few models complete:
Canoness w/ blessed
weapon and bolt pistol – 76
pts
(a basic weapon swap w/ the hammer
from the inquisitor lord)
9 sisters w/ flamer,
heavy flamer and veteran superior
w/ power weapon – 152 pts
9 sisters w/ flamer,
heavy flamer and veteran superior
w/ power weapon – 152 pts
5 dominion w/ 4 melta
guns and veteran superior w/ plasma
pistol – 155 pts
rhino w/ extra armor & smoke
– 58 pts
That does total up
to 593 pts, but I don’t really
think that I will need all of those
melta guns in a 600 pts game. I
would like to change them out for
either storm bolters or flamers
and maybe switch the rhino out for
an immolator. There is something
so right about dumping 4 flamer
armed sisters out of a vehicle right
in front of a lightly armored squad
(mmmmmm. crispy).
The other current
items that I have on my table are
20 storm troopers (2 squads of ten,
1 w/ 2 meltas and 1 w/ 2 plasma
guns) in chimeras, retributors w/
4 heavy bolters and an imagifier
and a celestian squad to serve as
my Canonesses retinue. I am trying
to get as much done as soon as possible
so I can use them during the upcoming
RTT at Atomicon. The main problem
is that is less than 2 weeks away
the only items that I have painted
are the ones list above. But, one
of the reasons for picking this
army is because I can use them as
allies with my Daemon hunters, so
in one form or another, I will have
some sisters at Atomicon.
