For the Army Challenge I've decided to do Eldar. The first 600 points is going to consist of a Farseer, 2 Defender Guardian squads with Warlock/Heavy Weapon platform, and finally a Wraithlord. Currently the Farseer, Warlocks, Wraithlord is completed in assembly need to be primered and base coated the all the other stuff. The heavey weapon platforms are on the work bench and should be finished being cleaned up and put together today or tomorrow. After that just the 20 Guardians and then they need to be painted. The next section of the army hasn't been decided on as yet but the army as a whole has been decided on. Farseer, 4 Defender squads w/ Warlock/ Weapon Platform, Dire Avenger Squad, 2 Vypers, Striking Scorpians, Howling Banshees, Wraithlord and a Falcon. The weapon combos might change a little between now and then but the weapon platforms will be done in a way where the weapons will be interchangable. I was advised to do Fire Dragons instead of the Banshees but have since decided against for although the Banshees are weeklings they are cool models and I want to paint them for my army. hehe.

Over all I'm feeling that this is a very well balanced army list and should do well against both a shooting army and a close attack army which is the reason why I feel it is a fairly well balanced army. Currently I have the Farseer, Worlocks, the Stricking Scorpions and Exarch. The Howling Banshee Exarch 2 of the Guardian squads with the Heavy weapon, Dire Avengers, Vypers, Wraithlord and the Falcon.

This leaves me with purchaseing the Howling Banshees as I love the new pose that was last released I currently have 7 of the old banshees but I don't think they look as dynamic as the new ones so I will take the plunge and purchase the new ones. Also I am missing the last 2 Guardian squads and heavy weapons and of course bases.

I'm currently leaning toward useing Epicast Basic terrain bases with a build up of Dark Brown to Light brown with spotches of flocking. The base colors that I will paint the army with be Dark Blue and Bone White and the gemstones will be painted Red. I'm trying to come up with some kind of pattern or design that I will put on the large areas of blue such as the Vypers, Falcon and Wraitlord as I want the army to look clean but not boring and big blank spots like those on the before mentioned look bland to me with out some kind of detailing. Hopefully some inspiration will hit me soon before I come to that bridge and have to cross it.

Well... finally an update to the Eldar of doom. : )

Army list has been finalized and all minatures purchased and as you'll see noted everthing has been assebled, converted if conversion work done and primered. The Guardian Squads got some minor conversion work done on them with the majority of it being the grave platform weapons haveing pins in them so that the weapons are interchangable in the future which you can see in the picture. The weapon platform crew have an extra bit added to them to make them look like they are a mobile targeting system for the platforms.

The Vypers have also been modified like the platforms so the weapon is interchangable by mounting on a pin, its not as clean as magnets but with the way the weapons where designed I felt it would be cleaner look to go with pins then magnets. Now all I have to do is paint it all. : )
