We came....we played...we conquered! Games Day was a real blast. We ran two tables in the clubs section and it was a great success. We really want to thank everyone who stopped by to play.

Special thanks also to Nick and Epicast who provided our Squiggoths as well as all the floor plating and tek bases for the Space Hulk Game.

We arrived around 8am on Saturday to set up our tables. I snapped a few shots before the hall opened to the public (click for larger images):

Squiggoth Stampede

Space Hulk

We were the only club with 9ft tall banners above our tables. It worked out nicely as you could see them from the other side of the hall. Soon after the doors opened to the public people started coming by to play:

Action!

Our first table, Squiggoth Stampede was a fast paced racing game where ork clans race Squiggoths around a giant track. The winner is the first to complete a lap in any direction! Thats easier said than done considering the squiggoths are even dumber than the orks controlling them. Each clan's squiggoth has special rules and abilities that allow them to cheat to try and get ahead. One of the pitfalls of getting too many squiggoths together is that they poo quite alot....which always makes for an interesting race.

Bill must be getting tired

Our second table was a 3-D version of 1st edition Space Hulk complete with modeled resin flooring, walls, electronic flashing blips and over 80 Genestealers! Up to 9 squads of terminators at a time tried to escape to the transporter in the center of the Hulk before they were hunted down by the ravening hordes of genestealers. This game was so popular we had people waiting in line to play. Kudos goes to Robert for putting this idea together.

During a power outage in the hall our Blips attracted many lost gamers

Judging from the popularity of our games and from the fact that we've all lost our voices from all the yelling and cheering We'd have to say this was a great success. Hopefully we'll see you next year!
