Don
has a wide variety of gaming interests.
He plays Vor (R.I.P.), Hoards of
the Things, historicals (currently
Boxer Rebellion using a modified
version of "Soldiers Companion"),
Warmachines, and Dark Age. He also
plays
a number of GW games. As he remembers
back when White Dwarf was a quirky
British rag that you bought for
the cool RuneQuest articles, his
preference is for titles such as
Talisman and Warhammer Quest (the
latter which he
sporadically GM's as an on-line
game). Despite his status as the
LVGC resident GW malcontent he has
convinced himself to paint up a
Warhammer Empire army on the basis
that many of its figures could be
used with other
historical rules. He also thinks
that Epic Armageddon has potential
to be a real wargame.
In his salad days
Don played a wide variety of RPGs,
such as D&D, T&T, C&S,
Top Secret, RoleMaster, Bushido,
Space Opera, etc. However, now that
he has a very "crunchy"
day job (building computer models
of physical systems) he prefers
RPGs that have less emphasis on
stats and combat and more on
character development and roleplaying
(e.g., FUDGE).
When he's not painting
figures or playing games, Don does
home remodeling and bets college
football. He also makes a perfect
vodka martini.
Don has been known
to roll three 11's in a row at the
craps table (certified parlay yo
specialist). If only he could roll
so well in a game.
